Luckily, Whirlpool® home appliances makes the decision process easy. This go-to guide will help you consider your space, style options, refrigeration needs and more!

Measuring Your Space

Refrigerators come in many different sizes. Before you begin looking at what style you want, it’s important to determine the dimensions of your space so you can choose a style/size that fits.

If you are building your kitchen from scratch or renovating you have a bit more flexibility -you can choose your ideal model and then build the rest of your kitchen cabinetry to accommodate.

Styles of Whirlpool® Refrigerators

French-Door Fridge

French Door: If you usually have more fresh food than frozen this is the most spacious option for you. With beverages, fruits, vegetables and leafy greens at eye-level, accessing your fresh produce is easy. Large platters for entertaining fit effortlessly alongside your everyday groceries.

Side-By-Side Fridge

Side-by-Side: If you need equal space for your fresh and frozen foods and could benefit from added door bin storage this is the perfect layout for you. Smaller items easily fit in the door for easy access making more room available for larger items on the shelves.

Bottom-Freezer Fridge

Bottom-Freezer: If most of your meals are centered around fresh ingredients instead of frozen this is an ideal layout for you. The freezer is out of the way until you need it and you can choose between a swing door and pullout drawer. This layout is also available in smaller sizes for tiny spaces.

Top Freezer

Top-Freezer: If you love the classic freezer-on-top configuration, this is the option for you. This layout allows for easy access to both the refrigerator and freezer. Some models have reversible doors so they can fit comfortably anywhere in your kitchen. This layout is also available in smaller sizes for tiny spaces.

Key Features to Consider

When picking out your model make sure to read all about the different special features and systems that Whirlpool® refrigerators may include.

AccuFresh™ Dual Cooling System: Keep your food tasting fresh and delicious! This cooling system delivers higher refrigerator humidity levels to better preserve the freshness of your food and cool, dry air in the freezer to reduce frost build up.

FreshFlow™ Air Filter: This air filter neutralizes odour and bacteria in your refrigerator – up to 15 times better than the traditional baking soda method. For optimal performance, replace this filter every 6 months.

KitchenAid® Produce Preserver: Some fruits and vegetables, like apples, release a gas called ethylene, which speeds up the ripening process of surrounding produce. In order to protect food from spoiling, this filter absorbs the ethylene to keep your food fresh and extend the freshness up to 4 days longer. For optimal performance, replace this filter every 6 months.

In-Door Ice® System: By moving the ice bin to inside the refrigerator door, more space is available within the refrigerator for other family favourites. The ice bucket is also removable.

External Ice and Water Dispenser: Easily access the ice and water dispenser, as it is conveniently located on the outside of the refrigerator door.

Measured Fill: Select the amount of filtered water you need – in ounces, cups or liters – and the dispenser will automatically fill the container to your desired amount.

MicroEdge™ Shelves: These shelves are designed to keep spills under control and prevent spills from dripping down onto the shelves below. MicroEdge™ Shelves have a seamless edge, which creates 25% more usable space compared to our other French door models without.

LED Lighting: LED lights cast more of a natural light instead of artificial lighting so your food looks fresh and delicious.

Finishes to Match Your Style

Do you want your refrigerator to blend in with the rest of your kitchen or stand out? Are you trying to match your new appliance to existing ones? These are all questions you’ll need to consider when choosing the colour of your appliance.
